Göteborgs Pantbank

When a business-critical system could no longer be updated

Göteborgs Pantbank had a loan management system the business depended on – but which could no longer be updated. CodeBridge handled everything from gathering requirements to building a new system, migrating data and integrating it with the online store.

About Göteborgs Pantbank

Göteborgs Pantbank is Sweden's oldest pawnbroker, founded in 1856. The business has three branches in Göteborg and offers pawn loans, valuations and sales. This makes reliable loan management systems a central part of daily operations.

The system worked – but it could not be developed further

The existing loan management system had reached a point where further development no longer made sense. At the same time, simply shutting it down and starting over was not an option.

Existing information needed to be carried over. The new solution needed to support key workflows too. And the system needed to connect to the online store.

So this project was not primarily about building a new application. It was about safeguarding an important part of the business.

From requirements to a working system

CodeBridge took responsibility for the whole process, from gathering requirements and writing specifications through to development and delivery.

We developed a new .NET application, built as a modular monolith. Existing data was migrated to the new solution and the system was integrated with the online store.

The choice of technology mattered, but the goal was simpler: a system the business could continue to rely on and develop further.

The result

Göteborgs Pantbank gained a new foundation for its loan management – without losing the information and ways of working the business depended on.
