Musikbörsen and emusic

When e-commerce needed to connect with the rest of the business

Musikbörsen and emusic needed more than a better online shop. Product information, pricing, e-commerce and business systems needed to work together as part of a single digital operation.

About Musikbörsen and emusic

Musikbörsen has sold musical instruments in Sweden since 1968. emusic has sold musical instruments and equipment online since 2004 and has a range of over 20,000 items. With such a large range, managing product information and prices is an important part of running the business.

The online store was holding the business back

The existing online store was not meeting the needs of the business. Product information and other important data were also spread across several systems.

A new online store therefore could not be built as a standalone website. It needed to be part of a larger digital workflow.

Product information was brought together in one place

CodeBridge took responsibility for the whole process, from gathering requirements and writing specifications through to delivering the new systems.

We built a PIM system using Akeneo to bring product information together and manage it in one place. We connected it to a B2C online store and integrated it with ERP and pricing systems.

The ERP system itself was outside CodeBridge’s scope, but the new solutions were built to work with it.

Systems that work together

The result was more than just a new online shop. E-commerce, product information, pricing and the ERP system could now work together as part of a single workflow.

This is especially important in a business where thousands of products need to be kept up to date and available to customers at all times.
